The Immigration Department announced that from 25 July 2014 Medibank Health Solutions will no longer be the Department’s migration medical services provider.
The new provider is now Bupa Medical Visa Services.
The Department indicated the change in service providers will provide the best value for money to the Commonwealth and services to the client.
A full visa medical (usually completed as a part of a permanent residency application), undertaken at a Bupa Centre in certain major Australian cities will cost approximately $330. Fees for migration medical services conducted at partner centres and in regional Australia are expected to be slightly higher.
Visa applicants who intend to undertake migration medicals after 28 July 2014 will need to contact Bupa Medical Visa Services directly. When making a booking, an applicant will need to provide their HAP ID. A HAP ID can be obtained through the relevant Department website, or through an applicant’s case officer.
The Department has confirmed that applicants who undertook migration medicals before 25 July 2014 with Medibank Health Solutions should not experience any delay in the processing of their visa applications as a result of the service provider change.
