Correct as at 1 July 2025
From 1 July 2025, a number of income thresholds relevant to meeting visa requirements across a range of visa subclasses increased by 4.6%, in line with changes to the annual Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings (AWOTE).
Income thresholds are indexed annually to ensure fair remuneration for overseas skilled workers. It also ensures that wages for skilled migrants increase at the same rate as Australian workers. This ensures that people cannot use skilled migration to undercut Australian workers.
Nomination applications lodged on or after 1 July 2025 must meet the relevant income threshold for the year commencing 1 July 2025 and ending 30 June 2026.
