State or Territory Nomination Under General Skilled Migration

At the present time, State and Territory governments have not released their migration plans for subclass 176/886 visas. This is due to the delay caused by the recent Federal election.
State migration plans are expected to be released within the next 2-3 weeks. The migration plans will offer an opportunity for potential skilled migrants under the General Skilled Migration program.
It is expected that some migration plans will have occupations not found on the narrow and limited Schedule 3 Skilled Occupations List.
However, applicants should note that each State and Territory government will be introducing its own set of criteria which needs to be met in order to be eligible for State and Territory nomination. The nomination criteria may be above and beyond visa requirements under subclasses 176 and 886. By way of example, these may include having:
NSW has indicated that its new state migration plan will likely include the same occupations as its state sponsorship skilled migration list that existed before 1 July 2010. This list included occupations such as:
