Recent Changes to Skills Assessment for Nurses and Midwives

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) recently announced changes which favours the recognition of registered nurses and midwives from member states of the European Union.
The ANMC is an authorised assessing authority for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) and undertakes skills assessments of internationally qualified nurses and midwives seeking to migrate to Australia under the General Skilled Migration category.

These changes will not only benefit European Union registered nurses and midwives but will also mean that Australian Employers seeking to sponsor internationally qualified nurses and midwives can now expect fewer delays as part of the recruitment and visa processes.
